HaPPy NeW YeaRs!

Wow, the year of 2011 flew by, as with every other year. In all honesty, it really didn't go by so quickly for me. I hope everyone had a great holiday and is ready to get back to work on Monday lol. It's back to the basics. I'm not ready to go back to school or back to work....(lol I don't have a job). SO...I read my horoscope the other day and it said that the year of 2012 will be a great year for me, both financially, healthwise, and in my relationship. What's even funnier is the fact that it said that I would see these full benefits and rewards in October of 2012. In other words, I will have to wait till the end of this year to seek the benefits of this year. HOW GREAT!!! Anyways, I hope that everyone has a great year and sticks with their New Year's Resolution. I hope to stick to mines as well.

First Day as a Natural

So after 5 minutes of wearing my hair in it's curly state.....I decided to try something a lil bit different.

I really wanted to try a puff. After chopping my hair, I realized that my hair, in it's wet state, would not fit completely into a ponytail. I gathered some strings and tied my hair down. I was able to keep this style for approximately 2 hours, before I began feeling a severe headache. I was quick in removing those damn strings from my head. Apparently I don't know just how tight to tie the strings lol.

After rushing to remove the strings from my head, I went to bed. My head was hurting so mad, that all I could think of was sleeping. I woke up to an even bigger catastrophe. My hair was starting to tangle up and become stiff. AGH! I shampooed and did a deep condition/hot oil treatment. My hair was so soft and manageable afterwards.....so I decided to blow my hair out!

 After blowdrying my hair (with the tension method), I decided to do some braided two strand twists. Basically, these are twists that are braided at the root. This particular method helps the twists to last longer. It took approx 7-8hrs, but they were cute.

 

                                    

Omg the twist out from these twist was stunning. It was my favorite hairstyle ever. I got tons of compliments when I wore my hair in the twist out. It lasted for about 3 days. I kept the twists in for about 3 weeks.

I really love my natural hair!







11-11-11 My Big Chop

So I finally did it. I finally cut those straggly relaxed ends that were hanging on for dear life. It was revitalizing and quite tiring lol. Of course you can check out my big chop experience on my youtube channel (mskinkybeauty is the name). Anywho, these photos were taken immediately after I finished the big chop. I was quite surprised that my hair was so thick. I hardly could fit in a pony tail.....at least not in it's wet state. Before doing the big chop, I wet my hair and applied Hello Hydration conditioner....I love the smell of that stuff. The entire big chop process took about 1 1/2 hours, which was kinda longer than I expected...but oh well. It's over now. I transitioned for 26 months and 2 wks...... and I'M NATURAL!!!

Those relaxed ends are all gone now!

I Need A Spanking!

HAPPY BELATED MERRY CHRISTMAS! Happy Kwanza! Ok it's been so long since I have made a post and I can't blame it on being busy.....more like being lazy lol. So I figured that I should come on here and make my final posts of the year. I need a spanking for being away for so long smh. Anyways...I didn't do much for x-mas. I visited family and I cooked a lil somethin somethin. Nothing extravagant. I didn't get anything for x-mas....womp womp, but I bought the boy a few things....an alarm clock and some old spice crap. I love seeing the expressions on his face when he opens gifts that I give him. Priceless. I'm still not sure as to what I'm going to do for New Year's Eve, but I hope to do something hot.
